International Students

MOT Class of 2018

The University of British Columbia is committed to respecting and promoting intercultural understanding and international engagement.  The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program is equally welcoming of the diversity and enriched learning experience international students bring, along with their unique cultural perspectives.  The diverse backgrounds of all of our students reflect the communities in which they will ultimately serve, throughout the province, Canada-wide, and internationally. Our program is fully accredited by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and graduates are eligible to write the national licensing exams that govern both Canada (CAOT) and the United States (NBCOT) upon graduation.

“The Occupational Therapy program at UBC is uniquely structured to emphasize the importance of group collaboration, and communication with other health care professionals, while still incorporating fundamental Occupational Therapy concepts. As an international student at UBC, I feel confident working within the Canadian health community, as the department and its faculty are very helpful with providing me with resources that will aid in my success as an OT student.”
– Ida Koraitem, MOT Year 1
