Dr. Jill Zwicker is an internationally recognized expert Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), a common but under-recognized neurodevelopmental disorder affecting one in 20 children.

With her reputation as a leader in this area of research and being known as an excellent teacher, she was contracted by the Ministry of Health in Singapore to guest as a visiting expert as part of the Singaporean Health Manpower Development Plan.

Traveling to Singapore in January, she led 7 days of lectures and workshops to increase the capacity of occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, psychologists, preschool teachers, learning support teachers, and OT educators, to provide early identification of and early intervention for children with DCD. The visit concluded with a written report of strengths and recommendations for improving support and services for children with DCD and their families

I admire and applaud the vision and commitment of administrators, health care providers, and educators in Singapore to work together and across sectors to better support children with/at risk of DCD. I thank them for their warm hospitality and opportunities to learn about Singaporean culture.
