Recruiting OTs for a Study of Artificial Intelligence

Are you an occupational therapist interested in advancing research in the field? An OSOT team led by Professor Dr. Tal Jarus is inviting registered, practising OTs to participate in a study that explores their perspectives on artificial intelligence (AI) and its future use in OT practice.

This project, titled “Artificial Intelligence – Current Opinions and Perspectives of Occupational Therapists,” includes Assistant Professor Dr. Julia Schmidt, Master of Occupational Therapy students Parmeet Matharu and Elizabeth Pertsev, and Clinical Instructor Minnie Teng, who received a Compassion and Artificial Intelligence Grant from AMS Healthcare to fund this research.

Who is eligible to participate?

  • Occupational therapists registered with one of the ten provincial regulatory bodies in Canada
  • Currently practising in Canada

If you are eligible to participate, this team kindly asks you to complete an online survey. Please review the consent form, which is available via the same link, before participating. The survey will take approximately 8-10 minutes to complete, after which you will also have the option to participate in a 60- to 90-minute focus group.

The survey has now been extended and will be open until January 1, 2023. Remember – your contribution will help shape the use of AI in OT practice!

Confidentiality: Confidentiality will be strictly kept. Please contact the research team directly and not via affiliated provincial OT regulatory bodies or academic institutions. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the team at pmatharu@student.ubc.ca or epertsev@student.ubc.ca.
