Professor Emerita Dr. Catherine Backman has been recognized with a highly prestigious 2023 Association of Rheumatology Professionals (ARP) Master Award.
This award is one of the highest honours the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) bestows. It is presented to ARP members 65 years of age or older who have made outstanding contributions to the field of rheumatology through service to the ACR/ARP, and through advancements in research, practice, education, and/or advocacy.
Dr. Backman’s dedication to teaching and research in rheumatology, along with her leadership in practice and advocacy, have made her the ideal candidate for this award. We are delighted to see her recognized in this way.
